Flora and Fauna at Various Wildlife Sanctuaries:
Tiger is the main attraction of the Ranthambore National Park. Their sighting being as common and as frequent as they are, are a matter of sheer chance. Other than the tiger Leopard, Caracal and Fishing cat are also found here. Large predators including Sloth Bear, Striped Hyena, Jackal, Desert fox, common mongoose, crocodile, python etc. can be located.Especially for the wildlife lovers its fauna would be the apt background for the scenic clicks.It includes wild date palm or Khajur, peepal trees, banyan trees, Indian Jujube or Ber, khus grass, etc.


Gir forests can be termed as a dry deciduous an open scrub forest which is a habitat for Asiatic lion at Gir. It includes almost 40 species of mammals, 300 species of birds, 38 species of reptiles and about 2,100 species of insects. It has a large number of marsh crocodile, which is amongst the 40 species of reptiles and amphibians present in the sanctuary.Gir National Park is dotted with an abundance of vegetation along with the different species of birds and animals. Covering an area of about 1412 sq. km, Gir is considered one of the most amazing National Parks in the country.Flora in Gir National Park includes semi-evergreen and evergreen trees, large patches of grasslands and rocky hills. The trees on the hills are short.There is vegetation along the rivers and streams in the area. The Teak, Acacia, Banyan, Zizyphas, Jamun, Tendu and Dhak are the types of trees you would find here. The Teak constitutes almost half of the total vegetation area.
